Tesla Update — 2026-09-09

Tesla News & Deals

Confirmed deals

  • No new U.S. Tesla offer was confirmed since the previous morning update. Tesla’s national page still shows 1.99% APR for up to 72 months on eligible new Model 3 Premium RWD/AWD and Performance vehicles, and 1.49% for up to 72 months on eligible Model Y RWD/AWD and Premium trims (3.99% on Performance). Financing requires excellent credit and at least 5% down plus taxes and fees; excluded configurations remain excluded under Tesla’s model-specific terms. The gas/hybrid trade-in offer still provides 2,000 free Supercharging miles, expiring two years after delivery. None of these national terms confirms eligibility or inventory for ZIP 96825. What changed: nothing verified. Confidence: confirmed. Tesla Current Offers · Tesla new inventory

  • The advertised entry leases are unchanged, and the low monthly headlines still understate the cost. Tesla lists a Model 3 RWD at $419/month and Model Y RWD at $499/month, each for 36 months, 10,000 miles/year and $3,000 down, with a $695 acquisition fee, credit approval, select-state availability and $0.25/mile excess-mileage charge. CarsDirect’s current ZIP 90245 cards show total due at signing of $4,114 and $4,194, respectively. Using the required formula, effective cost is $533.28/month for the Model 3 and $615.50/month for the Model Y, before taxes, registration, insurance, maintenance and any undisclosed disposition fee. CarsDirect labels both as expiring September 30, but Tesla’s own page gives no fixed end date; Hawaii availability remains unverified. What changed: no payment change; only a third-party expiration signal was found. Confidence: confirmed Tesla terms; CarsDirect expiration is credibly reported, not Tesla-confirmed. Important Tesla news

  • A Cybercab rider exposed the vehicle’s hidden touchscreen manual-control interface. Matthew Skrzypczak’s September 7 video, newly covered after yesterday morning’s brief, shows an on-screen joystick, forward/reverse prompts, door controls and support access. The car did not respond when the passenger tried the controls, so the video does not establish that riders can drive a Cybercab. Tesla’s July 16 first-responder plan independently confirms that an operable Cybercab can be moved with “onboard vehicle controls,” normally with Tesla support and responder identification; it does not publicly describe this exact interface. Owner/buyer impact: this clarifies how a steering-wheel-free vehicle can be repositioned, while the accidentally exposed service screen raises a legitimate access-control question during the early Austin rollout. Confidence: credibly reported and partially corroborated by an official safety plan; not confirmed by Tesla as the production operating procedure. • No new material SEC or investor-relations filing appeared overnight. Tesla’s latest issuer filing remains the July 23 Form 10-Q, its latest 8-K remains July 22, and its latest IR press release remains the July 22 Q2 results release. The September 8 CFO Form 144 was covered yesterday. Confidence: confirmed. Tesla SEC submissions · Tesla Investor Relations · Tesla press releases

Rumors and early signals

  • No material new rumor qualified for inclusion. Elon Musk’s “Hopefully soon in Europe too” reply about Cybercab is an aspiration without a timetable, regulatory approval or deployment plan. Software 2026.27.6 / FSD v14.2 Lite and v14.3.9 also remained at 0 tracked TeslaFi installations when checked, so yesterday’s early-rollout signal has not yet become a verified fleet rollout. Confidence: unconfirmed/early signal. Musk remark reported by Teslarati · 2026.27.6 tracker

Deal watch

  • Offers approaching expiration: CarsDirect’s ZIP 90245 snapshot labels its Tesla lease cards as expiring September 30, but Tesla does not publish that U.S. date. Tesla China’s inventory-only ¥5,000 Model 3 / ¥10,000 Model Y incentive still requires order and delivery by September 30; Automotive News’s September 9 article is new coverage of the already-known September 7 program, not a new price cut. • Meaningful inventory discounts: no Hawaii-specific VIN discount was verified. Tesla’s automated ZIP 96825 inventory view did not yield reliable localized listings, and the broad Tesla-Info page was not suitable evidence for current new Hawaii inventory.
  • Signs a stronger promotion may be approaching: quarter-end and third-party September 30 lease dates create some pressure, but there is still no verified U.S. zero-down program, cash rebate, FSD transfer or Hawaii-specific incentive.
  • Buy now or wait: wait if the purchase is not urgent. The national APRs and leases did not improve, Hawaii eligibility remains unresolved, and quarter-end is three weeks away. Buy only if Tesla’s final ZIP 96825 order flow confirms the rate and presents a compelling VIN-specific reduction in writing.

Source-access note: Tesla Current Offers, general inventory, China configurators, IR/press and SEC submissions were checked directly. Reuters, AP, InsideEVs, Electrek, Automotive News, CarsDirect, Leasehackr, Tesla-Info, Teslarati and Not a Tesla App were also probed. Reddit remained network-blocked. Tesla’s localized ZIP 96825 inventory could not be extracted reliably, so no Hawaii inventory claim was made.
