Tesla Update — 2026-09-08

Tesla News & Deals

Confirmed deals

  • No new U.S. Tesla offer was confirmed since the previous morning update. Tesla’s national page still lists 1.99% APR for up to 72 months on eligible new Model 3 Premium RWD/AWD and Performance vehicles, and 1.49% for up to 72 months on eligible Model Y RWD/AWD and Premium trims (3.99% on Performance). Both require excellent credit and at least 5% down plus taxes and fees; Model 3 RWD, Model Y L, used vehicles and enterprise sales are excluded as specified in Tesla’s terms. The gas/hybrid trade-in offer still provides 2,000 free Supercharging miles. None of this confirms eligibility or inventory for ZIP 96825; Tesla’s localized order flow and lender approval are final. What changed: nothing verified. Confidence: confirmed. Tesla Current Offers · Tesla new inventory

  • The newly syndicated “September Cybertruck lease” story is not a new promotion. Tesla’s current headline is $1,129/month with $5,000 down for 36 months and 10,000 miles/year on a new Cybertruck Premium AWD; the underlying terms have applied to applications submitted after August 24, require a participating state and credit approval, add a $695 acquisition fee, exclude taxes, registration, maintenance and insurance, and charge $0.25/mile for excess mileage. Using only the advertised payment and down payment gives an effective $1,267.89/month; including the disclosed acquisition fee raises that to $1,287.19/month, before taxes and other fees. Disposition fee and Hawaii availability are not stated. What changed: no reproducible change since yesterday; the September 8 article repackaged existing terms. Confidence: confirmed terms, not a confirmed new deal. Tesla Current Offers

Important Tesla news

  • Slovenia approved FSD (Supervised), becoming the sixth European country to recognize the system. Tesla Europe announced the approval on September 7 and said rollout will begin “soon”; Slovenia’s Traffic Safety Agency independently confirmed the temporary type-approval recognition to Reuters. This expands legal availability but does not make the car autonomous: the driver remains responsible and must supervise continuously. Tesla says an EU-wide vote could occur as soon as October 6, but that date and the outcome are not guaranteed. Owner/buyer impact: eligible Slovenian owners may receive access after Tesla begins the staged rollout; U.S. owners see no immediate feature change. Confidence: confirmed. • Tesla CFO Vaibhav Taneja filed notice of a proposed sale of 2,606 Tesla shares. The September 8 Form 144 values the proposed sale at $938,509.20 and says the restricted shares were acquired September 5; it reports no other sales by Taneja in the prior three months. This is a small officer transaction notice, not evidence of an operating change. Tesla’s latest issuer financial filing remains the July 23 Form 10-Q, and its latest IR press release remains the July 22 Q2 results release. Confidence: confirmed. Rumors and early signals

  • Software 2026.27.6 is an early rollout signal for FSD v14.2 Lite on HW3 and v14.3.9 on AI4. Teslascope reported the build late September 8 for eligible regions, while Not a Tesla App reproduces release notes that add v14.2 Lite to HW3 and describe v14.3.9 plus Automatic Collision Evasion on HW4. This is a material delta from yesterday’s single test-vehicle sighting of 2026.27.5: a newer build is now being presented as the public branch. However, Not a Tesla App’s TeslaFi panel showed 0 tracked cars, 0 pending installs and 0% of fleet when checked, and Tesla has not published these release notes on an accessible first-party page. Confidence: credibly reported/very early, not confirmed fleet-wide. Treat it as staged until independent customer installations appear; Tesla’s own support page says FSD remains supervised. Deal watch

  • Offers approaching expiration: Tesla’s China-only ¥5,000 Model 3 / ¥10,000 Model Y inventory incentive still requires order and delivery by September 30. Tesla’s U.S. offers page gives no fixed end date for the APR, lease or trade-in programs and says they can change or end at any time.
  • Meaningful inventory discounts: Tesla’s general U.S. inventory page exposed scattered demo/repaired-vehicle reductions, but the automated ZIP 96825 inventory views could not be retrieved reliably. No Hawaii-specific VIN discount is being claimed.
  • Signs a stronger promotion may be approaching: there is still no verified U.S. zero-down program, cash rebate, FSD transfer or Hawaii-specific incentive. Quarter-end is three weeks away, but timing alone is not proof that better terms are coming.
  • Buy now or wait: wait if the purchase is not urgent. U.S. APR did not improve, current leases remain expensive once upfront money and fees are included, and Hawaii inventory/eligibility is unresolved. Buy only if Tesla’s final ZIP 96825 order flow shows a compelling VIN-specific reduction and confirms the financing terms in writing.

Source-access note: Tesla Current Offers, general inventory, China benefits, IR/press and SEC records were checked directly. Reuters, AP, InsideEVs, Electrek, Automotive News, CarsDirect, Leasehackr, Tesla-Info, Teslarati, Not a Tesla App and recent Tesla-community feeds were also probed. Reuters’ article body was blocked in the direct extractor but was verified through indexed Reuters text and syndication; Reddit was network-blocked. Tesla’s localized ZIP 96825 inventory views failed automated extraction, so no Hawaii inventory claim was made.
