Tesla Update — 2026-08-29

Tesla News & Deals

Confirmed deals

  • Tesla restored all three U.S. lease illustrations to its Current Offers page after they disappeared during yesterday’s check. The restored terms match the most recently published higher-price examples rather than introducing a new discount:

    • Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive: $419/month for 36 months, 10,000 miles/year, $3,000 down, first payment, and a $695 acquisition fee. Estimated due at signing from those disclosed components is $4,114 before taxes and other fees; using (due at signing + all monthly payments) ÷ 36, the effective cost is $533.28/month before taxes and fees.
    • Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive: $499/month for 36 months, 10,000 miles/year, $3,000 down, first payment, and a $695 acquisition fee. Estimated due at signing is $4,194 before taxes and other fees; effective cost is $615.50/month before taxes and fees.
    • Cybertruck Premium All-Wheel Drive: $1,129/month for 36 months, 10,000 miles/year, $5,000 down, first payment, and a $695 acquisition fee. Estimated due at signing is $6,824 before taxes and other fees; effective cost is $1,318.56/month before taxes and fees.

Applications must have been submitted after August 24, 2026; leasing is limited to select states and qualified applicants. Tesla lists $0.25/mile for excess mileage, excludes maintenance and insurance, does not state a disposition fee or fixed expiration, and says pricing may change at any time. Tesla’s separate leasing-support page lists Hawaii among states where leasing is available, but the promotional payment was not independently quoted for ZIP 96825. What changed: the lease cards are visible again; there is no evidence the economics improved overnight. Confidence: confirmed. Tesla Current Offers · Tesla leasing availability

  • Promotional financing is unchanged. Tesla still lists 1.99% APR for up to 72 months on new Model 3 Premium RWD, Premium AWD, and Performance, and 0.99% APR for up to 72 months on Model Y RWD, AWD, Premium RWD, and Premium AWD (3.99% for Performance). Both require at least 5% down plus taxes and fees and excellent/qualified credit; Model 3 RWD, Model Y L Premium, used vehicles, and enterprise sales are excluded. Tesla states no fixed expiration or combinability rule. Verify the exact configuration and Hawaii eligibility before ordering. What changed: nothing material since yesterday. Confidence: confirmed. Important Tesla news

  • Tesla raised the European left-hand-drive Model 3’s official range from 534 km to 572 km (332 to 355 miles) using new tires. Tesla Europe says the 38 km increase applies across European LHD markets; it did not identify the tire, affected production date, price impact, or whether an existing car can gain the same rated range through a tire swap. This is a European WLTP figure, not a U.S. EPA-rating change. For buyers, it is evidence that rolling resistance can materially affect rated efficiency, but not proof of a battery or drivetrain upgrade. Confidence: confirmed by Tesla Europe. • Einride gave a firmer deployment target for its 500-truck Tesla Semi order. CEO Roozbeh Charli told FreightWaves that about 75 Semis should be deployed by the end of 2026, with the remainder targeted by the end of 2027. What changed: Einride’s August 18 announcement only said deployment would begin in September and run in phases over 24 months; the new target would compress the full rollout to roughly 16 months. This is a customer target, not a Tesla production disclosure, and execution still depends on Tesla’s ramp, financing, charging infrastructure, and fleet acceptance. Confidence: credibly reported from Einride’s CEO interview. FreightWaves interview · Einride’s original 500-Semi announcement

  • Tesla’s European configurators replaced the Model Y Premium’s Black-and-White interior with Zen Grey in multiple markets. Reports based on the live design studios say the €1,200 option applies to Premium RWD and AWD in markets including Germany, France, the UK, and Scandinavia. This is a regional trim change, not evidence that U.S. five-seat Model Y orders are changing; Zen Grey’s presence on the U.S. Model Y L does not confirm a broader U.S. rollout. Rumors and early signals

  • Tesla Motors Australia reportedly emailed Hardware 3 owners that FSD (Supervised) v14 Lite is in active development for Australia and New Zealand. The shared email says v14 Lite is already rolling out in North America and South Korea, but gives no Oceania release date, build number, eligibility details, or safety-validation milestone. Because the evidence is a customer-posted email reproduced by a third-party tracker rather than a public Tesla release, treat this as a development signal—not a confirmed rollout. Confirmation would require Tesla release notes or direct vehicle deployment in those markets. Confidence: unconfirmed/early signal. Original customer post · Not a Tesla App report

Deal watch

  • Offers approaching expiration: Tesla gives no fixed end date for the restored lease cards or current APR programs, saying they can change or end at any time. Third-party deal cards show August 31 expirations, but Tesla does not publish that deadline on the Current Offers page; do not rely on it without a configurator quote.
  • Meaningful inventory discounts: Tesla’s dynamic new-inventory page did not yield a location-verifiable ZIP 96825 result in this run. No Hawaii-specific inventory discount can be confirmed. Tesla new inventory
  • Stronger-promotion signal: weak. Restoring the lease cards after a one-day absence looks like a page correction, not a new incentive. Tesla IR posted no new press release, and the SEC submissions feed showed no new Tesla filing since yesterday’s brief. Tesla Investor Relations · Tesla SEC filings
  • Buy now or wait: current evidence still favors waiting for a non-urgent lease shopper. The restored headline payments require substantial cash up front and produce effective costs well above the advertised monthly figures. A well-qualified buyer financing an eligible Model Y or Model 3 has a clearer reason to act under the unchanged promotional APRs, but should first obtain a ZIP 96825 quote and verify taxes, fees, exact trim, inventory status, credit approval, and incentive combinability.
