• A federal headlight recall is now confirmed for roughly 20,000 older Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. • Tesla’s allocation in California’s MyFirstEV rebate program is reportedly exhausted. Electrek reports that Tesla buyers used the allocation between August 3 and August 8. The program offered first-time EV buyers $3,500 off a qualifying new EV under $50,000 or $1,750 off a qualifying used EV under $25,000, funded half by California and half by participating automakers. For Tesla shoppers, the practical change is that this point-of-sale discount should no longer be counted on; it was California-only and never applied to Hawaii.
