Tesla Update — 2026-08-05

Tesla News & Deals

Confirmed deals

  • No new purchase, lease, APR, inventory-discount, or Hawaii offer could be confirmed directly from Tesla. Tesla’s Current Offers, new-inventory, IR, and press pages returned HTTP 403 to unattended checks, while the SEC submissions feed still ends with the July 23 Form 10-Q. Tesla’s configurator remains the final authority for ZIP, configuration, inventory-only status, qualified credit, returning-owner eligibility, taxes, fees, combinability, and order/delivery deadlines. What changed: no new Tesla or SEC disclosure was visible. Confidence: confirmed for SEC filing status; Tesla consumer offers inaccessible. Important Tesla news

  • A third-party tracker has repopulated its Honolulu lease page with 12 August examples after showing no results yesterday—but Tesla has not independently confirmed them. For ZIP 96825, CarsDirect now lists 36-month examples expiring August 31, 2026. The lowest are a 2026 Model 3 RWD at $379/month with $4,075 due at signing (calculated effective cost $492.19/month; CarsDirect rounds to $492) and a 2026 Model Y RWD at $459/month with $4,155 due (calculated $574.42/month; tracker rounds to $574). Other cards run from a Model 3 Premium RWD at $399/month, $4,094 due, $512.72 effective through a Cyberbeast at $1,439/month, $7,135 due, $1,637.19 effective. CarsDirect calls these manufacturer lease examples but does not publish annual mileage, tax inclusion, acquisition/disposition fees, first-payment treatment, Tesla order/delivery deadlines, or exact credit tier; it only warns that above-average credit is generally required and actual pricing may vary. Owner/buyer impact: the page is a useful August signal, not a reliable quote. The large upfront amounts make the advertised monthly payments materially less attractive. What changed: the Honolulu page moved from zero results on August 4 to 12 August-dated cards today. Confidence: credibly reported by a third-party pricing tracker; not Tesla-confirmed. • Tesla has reportedly begun sending two-month FSD (Supervised) trials to selected European owners. Not a Tesla App reproduced an email supplied by a Netherlands reader whose trial runs through October 2, 2026, and said owners in Denmark reported similar invitations. The report does not establish fleet-wide eligibility, vehicle/hardware requirements, country-by-country availability, or a U.S. offer. Owner/buyer impact: relevant to selected European owners only; FSD remains supervised and does not make the vehicle autonomous. Confidence: credibly reported from recipient communications, not independently published by Tesla. Not a Tesla App

Rumors and early signals

  • Tesla’s AI chief says fixed FSD maximum-speed control is not coming back, but the replacement has no release date or version. Ashok Elluswamy wrote on August 3 that max-speed control is an “anti pattern” and that Tesla is working on learning users’ implied preferences. Current FSD builds instead use broad speed profiles. Confidence: direct executive roadmap statement, but timing and implementation remain unconfirmed. Confirmation would require Tesla release notes and a staged vehicle rollout identifying the exact software/FSD version. Not a Tesla App report linking the original post

Deal watch

  • Offers approaching expiration: CarsDirect’s 12 Honolulu lease examples all show August 31, 2026, but Tesla’s own terms could not be retrieved. Verify the exact vehicle in Tesla’s configurator before treating that date or any payment as available.
  • Meaningful inventory discounts: none independently reproducible for ZIP 96825. Tesla’s inventory page is blocked, and Tesla-Info’s general U.S. table does not prove a Hawaii-specific, Tesla-authorized discount. Tesla inventory · Tesla-Info inventory tracker
  • Signs a stronger promotion may be approaching: the reappearance of August lease cards is evidence that a new monthly program may be propagating through third-party data, but there is no verified nationwide or Hawaii Tesla announcement and no before/after Tesla term sheet.
  • Buy now or wait: wait for a direct Tesla quote unless a specific in-stock vehicle is urgent. The tracker’s lowest headline—$379/month for a Model 3—becomes about $492/month under the required effective-cost calculation before any omitted taxes or fees. Compare Tesla’s live cash, finance, and lease screens using ZIP 96825, and confirm mileage, drive-off, credit tier, inventory status, fees, and delivery deadline before ordering.
